The Chinese C919 made its first flight earlier today. Made by 'Comac', a state-owned creation along the lines of Airbus, and powered by CFM LEAP engines it is supposed to compete with the 737 and A320 family. All but two orders/options so far are from Chinese airlines, the other are from GE leasing (50% owner of CFM) and a Thai airline.
