I'm not saying you're wrong, but I've never seen or heard of this in the AF.

I asked in"the other" forum and neither had they.

One guy did mention an A-10 unit that put an F-22 kill on their Hawg just to wind up the Raptor folks.

But no one in the USAF would stand for this idea... well I'm 99.2% certain.
Nothing surprises me a lot any more in the AF.

I’ve seen one ever, and it was almost 20 years ago on the E converted to a prototype Growler. I think it was an F-22 exercise kill on a test jet. Never have seen one on a Fleet aircraft.

I was wondering if it wasn’t after a UK (internet) cartoon about a creepy creature named Salad Fingers who gets off rubbing rust, especially rusty spoons. Look it up, it’s too weird to try to explain.

I asked around, and as it turns out, I know the pilots of the A-10 and the F-16. Funny story:

The picture is from when he was the USAF A-10 Demo pilot, and that was the jet he brought to the shows. At some point during the season, he and the F-16 Demo pilot mixed it up in the MOA, and he (A-10) got a guns track. His crew chiefs put the Viper on the jet for the rest of the season.

Not sure about the F-22 silhouette, but I'm betting it was another similar thing. But definitely not anything you'll see normally on a USAF jet.

Demo guys poking fun at each other. Love it.

And it gives a ton of material (good stories are only 10% true) to tell the gawkers while manning the static display.
