Buying In Corpus

Does anyone have any advice, experience, or opinion about buying property in Corpus, specifically on the island? Is it a good market? Is the rental market pretty good? What are rents like? I have the chance to buy a 2 bedroon, 2.5 bath condo, new, canal view. What do rents range? Any warnings or info would be appreciated.

I lived on the island from Dec 04-Aug 05 while I was there for primary. I rented a condo on the water and paid $900 a month, it was through a real estate office on the island. Many (read most) of the students live on the island as opposed to in town. I wouldn't expect you'd have a problem renting it while you're not there. I can't really answer any more than that. Sorry if this wasn't any help.
