We had a guy in my class who had his wife visit us (well, him) in Bat 1 when we were in candi-o phase. He skipped out some nights during the officer candidate phase to visit his wife in the car. Somehow he got away with it.

I went through OCS about a year ago, no Girlfriend, or wif, ut the guys that had thier SOs visit seemed to have a harder time of it. So my sugestion, have her wait to move up to P'cola till after you get out of OCS.

yeah, he failed outta flt school after cheating on some tests (and being a crappy pilot). But he did get laid more than anyone else in our class who wasn't sleeping with another person in our class - yeah, we had that too.

That's a good idea if you'll be in P-cola after commissioning, but seeing how it looks like he's CEC, it's even a worse idea to move his G-friend out there for 12 weeks, then pack up and move to his ultimate duty staton/CECOS.

True... I will be going to CECOS in Port Hueneme, CA.

The thing is that we have to move out of our apartment here anyway. She has had plenty of offers to stay with friends and family while I'm in OCS, but in reality she WANTS to go. Not necessarily for the fact that she thinks Pensacola will be a fun vacation or even that she will be able to see me much. The truth is that she is trying to get away from friends and family for a while. Also, she might be spending the time to study for the MCAT exams while she is there and she can do that anywhere.

She isn't tied down at all (Mortgage, jobs, ect) and really wants to move around a bit and see the rest of the country (and eventually the world). She wont be bringing a bunch of stuff with her or anything, so packing up isn't even really an issue.

We definitely signed up for this together (not literally) and she is as into it as I am. She IS coming one way or another. With that said... I'm wondering still if anyone has an idea of where other wives/gfs have stayed while there and how and what it they did to make it doable (military clause or anything).

Thanks for the concern though... I appreciate you guys letting me know what you really think adn look forward to your future comments.

This is a little off topic, but the next CECOS class starts Sept 11, and it doesn't look like you'll be done with OCS by then.

This kinda makes things a lot more unpredictable. What they'll have you do is "stash" at your ultimate duty station until the next class in January. The reason this blows is that it's more moving around, plus, single guys get the ultimate shaft in that you can't live in gov't quarters and draw BAH at the same time...so what it means is getting an apartment right after OCS might not be the best thing, unless you can afford to pay rent w/o BAH while you're at CECOS.

CEC guys don't typically do OHARP. They'd rather you be at your duty station at that time learning something. Obviously they won't send you overseas, then bring you back, but I know someone who had orders to Keflavik, and he didn't get OHARP, they stashed him in Norfolk instead.

Just Do It

Have your woman get some sort of shack outside Pensacola, it is a cheap area to live. In the beginning you won't get much time to see her, but towards the end you will. There are other options for roomates than just the military as well. Remember OCS is really just about showing up, so it will be good for you to see someone outside of the little world that they build for you out there.

Actually sometimes they do, my first station was Okinawa and though I was stashed at P-cola another guy there was sent there and then brought back for CECOS
