That's true, but in a non-GCI/E-3/E-2 environment, it's the only effective equipment (other than the Mark 1 eyeball) that doesn't put energy into the air & give your presence & position away. That's one of the reasons our SSN's don't go around pinging their active sonar.

I got a great cure for boredom. Throw on everything you own, hike out 3 miles, stare through your AR-15 (M16) sights all day until you have sweated so much you have downed about 5 liters of water and only pissed once, then hike back home. Sleep 4 hours then rinse and repeat ad nauseum.

When you finally think you might get 8 hours of sleep, get excited, then sit in a room for several hours doing nothing until you are giddy like a little kid, only to find out that you are still waiting on the word and only get 3 hours of sleep to show for it.

Boredom cured.

You forgot about the sweat stinging your eyes and your sunglasses fogging up so when you finally do get to put some rounds down range you really can't see what you're shooting at... though we do live the life right now.

Been sitting on my ass recuperating from knee surgery and I felt the need to resurrect this thread...

There evidently was some human piece of garbage that posted something incredibly hateful and vulgar about Scott Speicher the other night and it was deleated by the mods.....

turns out SHE is some sort of Russia/Mig/ anti-NATO groupie.... I believe she was ban-hammered from AWs as well....
