I figured, it doesn't take a genius to figure out which aircraft is missing when they land, unfortunately that makes the job harder for those that have to notify the next of kin as their is .not much time before the name is out.

Bad day for the Thunderbirds too.

Cause determined for the Thunderbird crash, the throttle trigger was stuck and it allowed the pilot to inadvertently shut the engine down. We had the German instructor at VT-86 do the same thing in the T-2, the student caught it and they were able to restart it in time. The stud got 3 aboves.

The comments are a little more interesting than usual with folks calling it a cover-up, apparently it is President's Obama's fault.

The second and third times were intentional; from the AAIB Report "IAW airstart procedures, he intentionally placed the throttle to cutoff (2nd Cutoff)", "the throttle in the MA was placed in and out of cutoff a third time (3rd cutoff), as the MP perceived the airstart was not progressing as he’d hoped".
