On a similar matter, does anyone have a good way to re-anodize a buckle? I'm pretty attached to my first command buckle being the guy who designed it.

A quick Google search for "re-anodizing" yielded several locations in San Diego that do just exactly that. Any metro area should have the same.

There's a "Bosn Locker" shop outside of NBSD on Harbor Drive that said they could both "re-anodize" and make the repairs to make the buckle servicable.

When I get back from work I'll show a picture of the buckle before the work is done.

Yeah, but to honor the OP's post/question, it's not authorized. It's in the uniform regs as to what type of buckle you can wear.
Um...Rob...now you've got me confused. You already posted the regs...authorizing stuff from previous commands except for inspections or ceremonial functions. Do we really think anyone is going to rain on OP's parade for wearing one from his father's command? I'm not sure anyone would even bat an eye.

Now...check that your leather jacket zipper it ALWAYS closed at least 3/4 of the way...indoors or outdoors.:)

By request, here's the "before" belt before I take it in. If you can't see the description it's USS JUNEAU (LPD-10), circa 1991.

Good point, but then again that would imply actually reading and heeding the prescribed uniform for those things... if you're gonna get hit for a uniform violation, better make it a good one! :p

Something, IIRC, you're well-versed in. ;)

While not strictly legal, as noted above, I don't know anyone that would care much. Unless you manage to get it bedazzled I'm not sure anyone will notice.
