BDCP -> Navy [Reserve?]

I've been scowering the web for info on what happens after BDCP and completion of OCS. I know that originally a graduate would become an "active duty naval reserve officer" but I'm inclined now to think that instead a graduate is admitted, for lack of a better term (to my knowledge), to the regular Navy. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

And, if someone could clarify the difference between "active duty naval reserve officer" and a regular active duty officer...

Thanks!

We are no longer commissioned as Ensigns in the USNR. We are commissioned straight into the USN. I don't know when this change happened, but that's the way it is now. NO reserve (although even when it was, you still went straight to active Navy for all intents and purposes).

The change happened roughly in the 2006 timeframe. You used to apply for augment (USNR to USN status) when you picked up LT, which most people got approved for.
