BAH at OCS

I know if you are married you get BAH at OCS. THey need the lease agreement to pay you for it. Does anyone know if they pay you a set amount depending on where you live or do they just pay what the lease agreement says?

If you are BDCP, you get BAH. This is relatively new. They pay you based on your previous duty station (ie- college town). No leases needed.

Ok what the hell good does that do him?

Worm you'll get a rate calculated based on your location (IE cost of living expected). The paperwork for the lease is just proof of residence as far as they are concerned. This is why you will see a lot of guys go in together on a house and by the time they add up thier collective cost vs BAH they get to pocket some cash.

Is it ok to assume that if you are currently active duty and married, nothing is needed to continue receiving BAH while attending OCS? Also, if AD you receive TEMDU orders for OCS, correct?

When it comes to pay and entitlements, I wouldn't assume anything. In fact, I would even double check what the "experts" tell you.

For the OP, here's a link for what you'll get paid as far as BAH while at OCS. I don't know what pay grade you guys are while you're there. I've heard E-5, but really, I have no idea. It is fixed, and based on your zip.

Praying4OCS- The gouge I got is for Marine AD, vice Navy AD. Sorry.

For the Marines, no action is required on your part to continue your pay and allowances as they are. OCS is TAD and the Corps pays for your transportation. I don't remember if your commrats get taken away, but it stands reason that they would because you're on the chowhall's dime. I also don't remember if you get FSA, but it also stands reason that you would.

usmarinemike, thanks for the info. I will continue to research the point before I go to OCS. From what I have heard (not official), I will get TEMDU order for OCS and keep all current pay and entitlements since my spouse will still be in San Diego. As far as FSA, Ive heard nothing, but its worth looking into.
