AWG research

Gentlemen,

I am currently stuck at HOU with my flight delayed and I am trying to knock out some research for AWG articles for Naval Aviation publications.

While I can find the basic history of the AWGs, what I am lacking is the REAL story. If the members of AW could chime in with their memories of AWGs, when you wore them, what you wore them for, when you first got them, etc.. it would be appreciated.

If anyone has any photos that they own the copyright to and would not mind being published that would help on the subject, that would be appreciated as well. For quoting/research integrity purposes, if you would not mind being quoted, I can quote you by rank/last name, intitials etc. If you wish to remain "anonymous" but relate any stories/info about AWGs, if you could just give me a rough time (say, late 60s) and a location/CVW/Typewing (NAS Moffet, CVW-5, VA-Lemoore, etc) it would be appreciated.

The history is easy to find. The story is not. Pictures are welcome/appreciated.

Thank you for any help you can throw my way on this.

I'm going through the old archived issues of Naval Aviation News...lots of great pictures, but no articles as of yet. Kind of time consuming, but cool anyway. I'll let you know.
