I speak Russian and am interested in Russian jokes a great deal. I heard this one and thought you guys and gals might find it amusing.

At the beginning of World War II, the commander of a garrison in Africa receives a telegram: "War declared STOP Detain all enemies in your area STOP"

After a short while, he sends a report back about the completion of the task: "Mission accomplished STOP Arrested 2 Belgians, 3 Germans, 1 Frenchman, 4 Americans STOP Please advise who we are at war with ASAP STOP"

All I said is old joke about what is that russian business? it is when russian guys stole the wagon of vodka, they sold it, got good money and went to the store to buy vodka!
Sorry, no fun about about English. 6 years ago I did know a word in English and when everybody spoke English around, believe me it was not fun

Sorry about starting the Russian stuff, folks. But I don't get to talk with people too often--there are only a couple of native speakers here at my college. :)

Anyway, grmaster, I basically got stuck with Russian in high school (I went to the IL Math and Science Academy). I hated it at the start, but came to love it. So it was all by accident. I've studied it for five years (eto moj shestoj god), lived in Russia for a little over three months in Krasnodar. Depending on how things go, I'd like to do the Marine Corps' Foreign Area Officer program for the FSU and maybe be a military attache in Moscow.
