I know of two incidents where a SNA vaunted gracefully out of the back seat of a T-28, snagged his wedding ring, fell, and left his ring finger in the aircraft. They were both dropped from the program since the Navy thought aviators should have ten fingers. Can be avoided by not wearing rings around flying machines.

I swear I must have hit my head on the damn feather buttons getting in AND out of the seat for my first 5 flights in the P-3. One time, I drew blood. Curiously, I haven't done it since.

I do it all the time. Good thing they have those guards otherwise I would have feathered the #1 prop each flight.

IIRC a Harrier pilot did that a few years back.
 
Although this is more embarrassing than it was a serious injury, I closed the 60S door on my hand (basically every finger except my thumb) while at the FRS. It hurt like hell, but didn't do any significant damage.

I had adjusted my harness and seat and reached to close the door (this was one of my first flights in the S btw). Since I'm shorter than most people, I have trouble reaching the horizontal bar that's connected to the door handle just forward of the map case. So, I placed one hand on the frame of the door and tried to pull myself out a little further to reach. And reach I did. Unfortunately, my hand was still holding on to the door frame when the door shut. I remember hoping that my fingers were still attached (overreaction, of course).

Anyways, I learned my lesson and the moral of the story is don't use the damn door frame to close the door - the hand hold above the windscreen will serve you much better.

Suckers. One of the benefits to being all of 5'7 on a really tall day.
