Hmmmm....1 Nautical Mile = 6,000 ft && 1 Mile = 5280 ft.....Sounds right that 1kt == 1.15 mph :)

google: 1 mile = 5280 feet
google: 1 nautical mile = 6 076.11549 feet
google: 1 knot = 1.15077945 mph

Arg.......Aviator math makes life easier.....easy to remember 6,000 ft == 1 NM when you are traveling at 7-8NM/min.....Yahoooo!!
