Auto Body in Pcola area

I need to find an auto body shop in this area and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I have a 2003 Hyundai with $4000 of rear end damage courtesy of a georgia sheriff, long story short that is. I was thinking of calling the local dealer and asking for suggestions, but I'm interested in tips from personal experience as well.

Thanks!

I would highly DIScourage you from going to Sandy Sansing. I've had less than optimal work done there and a buddy of mine had the same experience.

I had work done to my Honda when I was a student, but I can't remember the name. I think it might have been Gross & Son's, but I don't have the paperwork anymore to confirm it. Whomever they were, they did a great job. A big help to you, I know.

Thanks! Someone suggested a dealship, but I have never used a dealership for repair before, and I just don't have a good feeling about it. At least I recognize that second name you mentioned though, I think I came across that.

I had to get brake work done on my car and went to the local Ford dealership (World Ford) and they did an awesome job. Dealerships you can usually trust, but they'll cost you more money. When in doubt, I'd trust the dealership more than some local place since there are some shady guys out here.

I would ask people who live in the area for the rep. The FORD dealer's "mechanic" (and I use that term LOOSELY) royally funked up the injection system in my F-250.

Took me ~$600 to un-funk it when Duval Ford's shady work let go.

I would suggest that you contact USAA and ask who they have in the area as their " prefered " body shop. If you have another inusrance company contact them to see if they have a similar program.

Concur with GroundPounder, but be sure they do what you want them to do, and get EVERYTHING taken care of right then. USAA recommended the folks I had fix my car after a drunk hit it parked in front of my house (can't remember the name). Typically blend new paint on older cars so it's not as obvious you've got new paint in one spot and original paint everywhere else, they didn't, and it's kinda obvious at times. Also, have them check the window rails if you got hit on the side at all--mine got bent and electric motors are expensive as hell after they burn out .

Hill Kelly in car city is good. They were not on USAA's list but I wanted my truck fixed there in case I had any engine damage. 594-6925 is their number.

I went to Sandy Sansing and the work was alright. There's some flaws in the paint job I recieved and it took over a month for the repairs. If you can find something highly recommended go there over Sansing.

That sounds about on par w/ my experience there. I wouldn't call that "alright," especially when there's better places.

Their website looked pretty impressive, but I was wondering if anyone would mention that. Maybe I will give them a call. Thanks for the input everyone! I just want to have a real tail light lens instead of some lovely red tape.
