I'm an active duty Naval Officer. This may sound like a stupid question, but is there anywhere (on base @ NAS Pensacola) I can go to shoot guns? I'm willing to pay for ammo and range fees. It seems strange that this isn't an option for active duty MILITARY.

Do the other services have range facilities on their bases that I can use during my free time? And is this typical for Navy bases?

Can anyone recommend an off-base range (pistol) in/around Pensacola?
Thanks.

Well, there is nowhere ON base. I go to a place in Pace. It's about a 30 minute drive. They have shotgun pads, an automated shotgun range, archery range, rifle range, and pistol range.

The cost is $6 + tax.

Yup, that's where I shoot as well. It's a nice place, though I wish they had a plinking range. I was just there this weekend with my newly purchased M1 Garand.

Some bases will have facilities. Camp Lejeune has a skeet range, and allows hunting in some parts of the base.

.. marines seem to have the *need* to shoot things hence why their bases have ranges. buwahahaha.

well so do I, but the consensus is more marines per capita have the primal urges to shoot things. what do you normally take out there? I have my glock 17 and 12ga.

I got a SIG P226, Glock 23, Remington 870, Ruger 10/22, AR-15, Mosin-Nagant 91/30, and a M1 Garand.
