coming out end of Jan.?? Anybody heard anything about how good it might/might not be??
My guess is that it will be on par with "Stealth."

It's all true and portrays an accurate picture of Annapolis.

...well at least that's what the Film Actors Guild (FAG) said.

Not even filmed at Annapolis. The Academy didn't approve of the script.

That being said, it'll be a GREAT comedy.

Yeah it'll probably be gay, but it has some advantages:

1. When people make fun of me for doing a prep year and then going to the Academy I tell them there's a reason why there's a movie called "Annapolis" and not "SUNY Albany"

2. It'll make Academy guys studs with those who don't know any better. "Yeah yeah, I went to the Naval Academy - you know, they made a movie about it."

Heh heh... I still haven't seen any previews/ads for in except online. Anyone know if it's still seriously coming out?

Yeah, heard ads about it on the radio yesterday. Sadly it's still coming out.

Keep telling yourself that.

"Yeah yeah, I'm an F-14 Tomcat 'Top Gun' pilot - you know, they made a movie about it."

Yep comes out Jan 27th. Since the Navy didn't endorse it, Navy personnel are not supposed to go to screenings in uniforms (why you would anyway, is beyond me), and if you're asked any questions by the media, you need to direct all questions to your respective PAO offices, so the PAO can tell them that the movie eats dick, and that Tyreese is the most unconvincing midshipman ever ("If you become officers, this is where they'll put your mistakes!" <a body bag zips up>).

On the plus side, it might make us Academy grads look like bad-ass, locked-on killing machines.

Which is about as far from the truth as one can get, but it's how I prefer people think of me; much better than "unprofessional, slovenly pansy."

Yeah, that won't go very far if you're in ear shot of anyone who is Navy :icon_tong

Got a reference on that? Sounds like the product of the rumor mill vice DON policy.

This is standard with any topic and not particular to this film. I know this seems nit-picky, but lets not make this out to be some kind of thing where the Navy is vehemently opposed to the content of this film. It's just another in a long series of films which the Navy does (and should) ignore.
