A compensated G23C where you can see the much smaller slide cut outs and small slots in the barrel itself than a G34/35:

Yes, it's got fuzz on it, but it lives near the rug in a handgun safe by the bed.

The guy I'm getting the pistol from a friend of mine who is a little cash strapped at the moment. He's been out of town & will be back week after next & I will get to take a good look at it then. He says it has less than 100 rounds through it.

You mentioned the IDPA in your post, what do you like & dislike about it? Up until now I've only owned long guns, and the IDPA sounds like it would benefit my pistol shooting.

I've got no dislikes. Ok, maybe one. They make you wear a concealment article of clothing. Nothing to worry about in any other part of the world except the devil's asshole, sorry... meant South Texas. It's too damned hot and humid here for civilised life. But most guys just wear the gay 511 vest or something similar to conceal the holster. A baggy tee shirt will also work, but it cuts some tenths of a second off your time. Some SOs won't allow tee shirts anyway.

But the shooting and courses of fire are realistic with in the context of what it is, and is allowed to be. I like it better that IPSC or USPA. Race guns are fun to shoot and it feels great cheating. But they're like mopeds, helos and fat girls. Fun to ride, but embarrassing to be seen with. My philosophy is that my gun is a tool, a tool to help me stay safe and alive. Whether for work, or off duty. That's why I joined the IDPA club here locally. To keep proficient.

The 35 is great for target shooting. I shot IDPA with it and it's awesome. Dead reliable, accurate, and affordable.

I learned at IDPA that the only glocks that have problems are the ones that people "tinker" with. So it's a gun you shouldn't mess with, just shoot it. If you want to buy upgrades and play with a gun, get a gov model 45.

It's meant for USPSA/IPSC and Steel. Challenge. Not really a good gun for the goofy rules of IDPA.

But USPSA/IPSC in Limited Division - great platform!
