Yes, it would be inappropriate.

Slightly off subject, but I can't remember seeing more than one or two dual-military relationships last where the woman was the senior person. And that is in 19 years...

My advice: get over the whole "forbidden fruit" aspect or just date somebody your mom wouldn't like. Leave this girl alone because nothing good will come of it.

Is it unacceptable for someone to pursue a relationship with a 1/C Mid when they are a 3/C, with that relationship possibly extending past commissioning for the 1/C? The only thing I know is an OC recommended otherwise. This being for NROTC and not the Academy.

I shudder because I watched this exact thing happen when I was in college. Before she got commissioned, anytime they had a fight, everybody avoided them because one or both of them would be trying to milk you for information about what boyfriend/girlfriend said, while spreading propaganda about how it's all his/her fault and I didn't do anything wrong and so on and so on. Just ugly all around. Normal relationship shit except that we were all (future) Marines so we all had events together 4-5 days a week. Eventually it became a Lt at TBS (chick) dating a Mid (dude), said Mid was then introducing his "girlfriend" to his active duty Sgt/SSgt buddies by her first name, she was getting all pissed at him for not recognizing her officer status, then there were the awkward explanations of, "Well, actually you can call me Lt Girlfriend" etc etc. It was painful. Then they broke up when she got to her first duty station. Avoid it if at all possible.

Did people really need an new instruction to tell them that it's not OK to bang the hot French enlisted chick? :D

Perhaps they do when it's mids and it's not a "chick" they're talking about... :yuck_125::yuck_125::yuck_125:

Mid 1995 I was in Kyev, Ukraine; needed all the help I could muster. When the local "hotties" found out you were a "yank", they made it tough to remember all those "rules". They were even interested in those of us over 60. On to Odessa, things only got worse, women more beautiful.:eek::eek:
