Aeromedical Reference and Waiver Guide Questions

I'll need medical waivers, and in my research to make sure I'm compiling all the right documents I found the following sites :

Can anyone vouch for the guide? Are decision makers following the guide when deciding to grant/decline waivers? I stopped taking ADHD meds 8 months ago, but the guide says "Applicants with ADHD who have not taken medication for 12 months... may be considered for a waiver." I asked my recruiter, and they said I could still be considered and approved for a waiver despite not having 12 months off meds. However, I'm skeptical that I can ignore the official guidance and still get the waiver I need.

First and foremost welcome to the forum. Second, please take the time to browse the forums, there’s quite a bit of information about the NAMI physical, qualifications, etc.

Similarly, any follow on topics or discussion including the OCS process, naval aviation, ASTB srudy, etc. kindly suggest you search the forums first.

Good luck!

I am in a similar situation, I was told by a flight doc at Pensacola that you can still be approved even if you don’t meet exactly what is called out in the waiver guide. His exact words, “it’s called a guide for a reason”. It’s all case by case so I recommend trying your luck.
