Hello,

I was looking on the BUPERS website under the Aviation Community and noticed that there's something about a bonus, at least for FY03. This was for Pilots and NFO's who had completed the first year of their active duty obligation.

Are they still doing this for FY03, or has improved retention killed it?

Thanks,
IS2(SCW)

You are talking about the bonus to stay in service, or, AVIATION CAREER CONTINUATION PAY (ACCP). You have to serve your winging commitment before you can recieve that bonus. Depending on your platform, for myself (P3 bubbas) I have to serve 7 years from Winging. Then I can apply for either the 3 or 5 year bonus ($15k and $25k a year respectively). The latest message I think you are referring to allows you to apply for that up to a year early.

Will the program still be around? I honestly can't say, so many commercial pilots are being furloughed right now, but who can say X number of years from now?
