ABF Upack

Have any of you used ABF (www.upack.com) for a PCS? A quick search turned up a couple people mentioning it as an option, but no real reviews or experience.

I'm leaning towards going with them from Whidbey to Pensacola, but my wife is concerned that all of our stuff is going to break. She's reading a bunch of horror stories on epionions and wants to switch to a full service mover now. PODS is also an option, but our stuff will fill up about 1 1/3 PODS and I don't feel like paying the extra $3,500 for the second POD that we would barely be using. We want to take our time going cross-country with the family, so a Uhaul isn't really a viable option.

I used ABF for my last move from Corpus to Norfolk. I highly recommend them to anyone considering a DITY or partial DITY. You stand to make a lot of money with a DITY and ABF takes away a lot of the pains dealing with moving yourself. The upfront cost is a little more than what a self-service mover would be (Uhaul, budget, penske) but you have to factor in gas and time. ABF ships your goods for you. This saves you from driving 55-65 mph in a large truck towing your car while your wife and kids are trying to follow you. Getting gas in those big trucks is a pain and not to mention having to worry about your stuff getting stolen out of the parking lot in the middle of the night.

The process is pretty easy. Just call, get a quote, get moving supplies that you need (they can provide these if you set it up), they drop off a trailor, you fill it, partition off your stuff, they ship it, they use the rest of the unused space for commercial shipping en route, have it dropped off at your new place, unload, they come get it.

Great company, friendly customer service, and I made a great profit on this move. Remember you can still turn in weight tickets for your POVs also.
