401k

Does the military have a 401K type plan for retirement? I am trying to invest some money each month but so far i'm only looking into mutual funds. I will be starting a Roth IRA soon but from everything that I have read, everyone raves abot 401K's. So, i'm just wondering if there is a military equivalent of a 401K or if there is some other form of investing that can match a 401K.

The military has TSP (www.tsp.gov). It's not as good as a 401(k) because there isn't any matching, but it's good if you're not a disciplined investor, because it takes it out of your paycheck before it hits your checking account.

Also, alot of companies have a 401(k), but you can't retire at 20 years with half pay...kind of a tradeoff I guess.
