29JUNE2026 IWC Board

Doesn't help when they post the results at COB on the East Coast. My CO and yalls recruiters probably already went home.

This is also a great time to mention a super important lesson I've learned in my 7 years in the Navy: no one cares about you and your career more than you do. You need to advocate for yourself, be the squeaky wheel (within reason), ask for follow-ups, and make stuff happen because no one else wants it more than you do. This goes for things like result releases and waiver statuses all the to getting signatures for your qualifications or confirmation on training completions. Be your biggest advocate or those that are more willing to do it will steamroll you.

I mention this manly because it seems some people got screwed by their recruiters being too passive or not proactive about documentation submission.

Fell into the bucket of "DNR UNTIL SEC CLEARANCE ISSUES ARE RESOLVED." Anyone know the process for appealing/resolving this and reapplying? I imagine it varies based on the clearance issue--mine is likely not financial/personal, but instead related to non-citizen family (inquired with OR for more details and awaiting those). @exNavyOffRec, ever heard of someone actually resolving those and ending up in INTEL or another TS/SCI position?

And congrats again to all those who got the Y! Better luck next time (or in future endeavors) to the rest of us.

That date can be very misleading, I have seen dates like that and the last date was the date it was signed by the Senior board member which was quite a while after they did all the actual selections.

I haven't but then again each circumstance is different, so see what needs to be corrected and if it something you can do.

I'lll add something here in case other civilians apply in the future and go through this thread. I had to drag my recruiter out of bed in the morning and pester him to do even the most basic parts of his job. One time I drove up to the recruiting station and waited outside the door until he showed up at 3:00 in the afternoon. We were getting close to the board deadline and some paperwork wasn't in and he was nowhere to be found. I had to call the regional command in Colorado and offer to drive five hours up there to drop it off in person. Honestly pretty pathetic level of incompetency. I say all this as a warning for future applicants to really stay on top of the process

Jesus, I would've name-dropped him with whoever the CMC or XO was that is straight embarrassing.
