26JAN2026 IWC Board

I spoke with the Intel OCM about this. It is closed for non-fleet applicants and open for fleet applicants. On an earlier page in this thread there’s a picture of the schedule and it notes what is being considered at the board that convened 26JAN.
Thanks for clearing this up! Bummer for us civilians, but good luck to 1830 fleet applicants!

The actual degree can be misleading unless you know their background. I had an History major selected for IP or CW (can't remember which) who had nearly 3 years of Electrical Engineering before realizing that was not the path for them.

The stats over a few decades have shown that IP and CW select those with tech degrees around 90% of the time, having a high GPA helps as I also had an English major with a near 4.0 GPA picked for Intel.
Are you saying he had 3 years of Electrical Engineering experience?

Did u have a lot of non tech degrees apply for both ip and cw tho? I feel like cw is more niche compared to intel.

are the boards for IP officer still happening? I have texted my recruiter but have no gotten a response and it has been over a week now. I understand recruiters probably get multiple texts a week and may be busy or ignoring applicants. I am jsut curious as I understand many of the IWC boards are being cancelled. But I also understand IP Officers are in need. (I accidently asked this in thew SWO forum) but I was just curious if anyone knows. From my understanding, IP officers are in demand right now but from what I am reading, the IWC boards are cancelled. But I just wanted an idea if IP officer boards are still going on.

Based on recent discussion, I'm not seeing any indication that IP didn't convene at this board. Several designators were closed (to civilian applicants), but IP wasn't one of them.

CTNtoCWT's screenshot on page 3 of this forum still looks accurate.

Your best bet is to browse the posts/updates folks have given here. It's been discussed a bit in detail here.

There is technically always a need as they have goals each year to fill each designator with a specific number of people.

The IWC designators have one of the lowest selection rates due to the number of people that try to get into those designators.

There is no greater or no less need than any other year.

I didn't because I would talk about the qualifications, however there were many OR's who would just smile and nod when applicants said they wanted to apply to various designators. The IWC community used to have statistics on those they selected and it gave a really good insight on who they were selecting.

Yea thanks for that info. I’m bummed considering I regret my major but it really is my only weak link for cw so I hope the rest can help outweigh it. Thanks again, and yea my recruiter is one of the ones u described. He encouraged it over intel for me.

Thought I’d let y’all know, the march board was canceled, only convening SWO-O. Just saw my recruiter today.
Yikes... so that means that there will have been almost a year between INTEL boards open to civilians (I believe August '25 was the last one)? How is that at all strategic? Why accept >50% of applicants in the August '25 IWC board to stonewall qualified apps in following quarters. (Just a frustrated applicant ranting lol).

I know dude, my recruiter was telling me about the cw guys since that’s what I’m applying for. He told me there were like some guys that really had no business being selected especially since there were 84 guys picked up from 1 board. It messed everything up. And I was an applicant for intel in that board and I switched to cw so yes by the time I get the answer for 6/29 it will have been 1 year.
