The number of applicants is really irrelevant unless you know what specific designators they applied for, what designators are actually open, how many spots the open designators have, and the quality of those that applied.

IWC and other designators in the past have at times not filled all of their spots at a board if they didn't think the applicants were good enough qualify.
 
Sorry to add to the confusion but I just got off the phone with my recruiter and they haven't heard anything about CWO not being at the next board. They also seem to think that MCWO wouldn't be available at the board. They should let me know if they get any clarification on the matter.

That looks to be correct. August 11 didn't have any MCWO slots, and neither did the previous board in June.

Maybe? Theoretically there may be more slots available overall. But I'd say just put your best foot forward, and hope for the best. They will potentially leave slots unfilled if they feel candidates aren't suitable.

They will do their best to distribute the available spots across all scheduled boards, this board should be selecting for FY26 still if that is the case NRC could be filling spots due to others not being able to go, or they could be using this board to fill FY27 spots early, in either case MCWO is a small group with small numbers of spots and high standards.

Appreciate the insight. I was just curious as to why it's only now being offered at board. It's a new designator so I'm sure they're still working out some kinks. I imagine all of IWC is very competitive.
