I think the question is, was your selection for an AD or a reserve commission? the DCO program is reserve officer program while AD CEC officers go through the traditional OCS program.
Either way, CONGRATULATIONS! I am a CEC DCO myself. It is a great community! If you are a DCO (reserve) PRO-REC, let me know if you have any questions about 'what happens next.'

Technically there is a FINSEL letter for DCOs....mine was page 1 of my COMDOCS.

Yes I am going AD. I am AD enlisted now. All I can do is wait according to my OR. It is good to know you CEC_Bound. We might be in the same class. What else do you know? Does anyone know how is the process from this point ?Penguin? Dmitriy?

FYI, DCO is a term used for those that are either civilian or reserve that are going reserve CEC officer.

Wait. That's the process from here in my understanding. You actually seem to have more info than I with at least a ballpark for when to expect your FINSEL. I got pro rec'ed in October too though my package was submitted for the August board so hopefully I'll be in the same class with you guys. There is another CEC select from October who's also waiting for the FINSEL (gvillaneng). Perhaps they'll slot all four of us into the same class...

In short, from here until you commission you are just like all the SNA/SNFO/SWO/IDC PRO-RECs on the site. You wait, work out, learn the gouge, and eventually get a FS letter and an OCS date. After OCS you will either roll right into CECOS or move out to a Seabee unit. At that unit you will then work your a** off to learn everything you can and earn your SCW pin. But mainly the process is waiting.

None of my CEC selects, went straight from OCS to CECOS, they all went to either a Seabee unit, or public works then to CECOS, I am fairly sure the other selects from my NRD were the same way as several went to OCS with my guys.

I had the chance to talk to one of the Officers that participated in the selection board. He explained that congress supposed to sign the billets in October but they didn't (maybe because of the gov.shutdown?) but hopefully they will sign in January. Then, the selected CEC candidates would have billets (contracts) to be attached in the future. Is by this time that final select letters would be issued with slots (dates).

I thought all CEC officers had to go to a Seabee unit to earn their SCW pin before they could specialize into Public Works or NAVFAC billets. Now I know that is not always true. Nifty. This doesn't make sense, if that was the case then it would be affecting SNA/SNFO/SWO/Supply/etc....., maybe there is something missing in what he meant to say.
There is what is called a scroll list, but that is something that delays DCO's, at least that is a delay that the NRD sees.

yep, for a while getting into a Seabee unit was rarity, but that is an odd circumstance, normally PW or NAVFAC is after earning a SCW.
