Tomorrow, 150 years ago. The lead elements of Harry Heth’s division of A.P. Hills corps, engaged 2 brigades of John Buford’s dismounted troopers. With the help of the Spencer repeating rifles that Buford’s men were equipped, they were able to hold off Heth’s division until the Union 1st corps arrived on the field. The battle of Gettysburg had begun.

When I saw the thread title, figured it was something big in the Civil War, and it was. Interesting bit. Personally, I'd prefer to see a new CVN christened USS GETTYSBURG, rather than a politician. I don't think there will be very many (any?) more 'bigdecks'!:(
