15 SEP2025 SNA/SNFO BOARD

Same. Mine told me to talk about my aviation experience and leadership qualities I've learned over time in college.

Yup, told me to talk about my charity work as an ALPA member too.
There is what is put out that is I would say is the political correct info, and then there is what they actually look for, those things are not the same. What they look for in an aviation applicant is not the same for SWO, Supply, or IWC, each board looks for different things but what you will see in the publications is they essentially all look for the same qualities, but they don't.

They also used to have OR's that were I would say specialist, they only did officer recruiting now they have some who "help out", those of us that only did officer recruiting had really good data and some of us were able to really get to know the program managers. I was also at HQ which meant I would get to meet the senior officers from NRC when they would come up as well as ask them questions and since many of them sat boards I would ask direct questions.

Those contacts enabled me to get the real info the board looks for and that is how I would make my yearly goal in the first quarter of each FY, as well as being one of the top officer recruiters in the nation.

Out of curiosity, what is the typical yearly goal for an OR?

It varies on the recruiter and their market.

A brand new officer recruiter and/or one that’s in a smaller market, say Helena Montana, is going to have a smaller goal than one who has more time (say 6-12 months) to build their applicant depth chart as well as one that’s in a much more metro area like New York City.

Hey guys since I am in my mid 20s I am a little concerned with getting old when to comes to commissioning and starting flight school. So if I am understanding authorization form 106 correctly the only age I need to worry about is when I commission and the max would be 32 right?
 
t54A is a King Air, nice robust turbo prop. Crazy how ya’ll get taught in such advanced airframes
My brain is a little fried from learning the avionics, but it’s really nice

I CANNOT wait to fly that T-6. Stick and throttle is the best way to fly in my opinion
The T-6 is definitely fun, but CRM and not having to wear a harness strapped to an ejection seat in the Florida heat is awesome

King air was my second turbo prop after the Caravan. Its definitely not the easiest turbo prop but not the hardest.

Without a waiver, yes. The program authorization doesn’t list a maximum waiverable age though. I got my age waiver for SNA/SNFO at 41, was selected for SNFO at this board, and will be 42 when I’m at board for SNA (whenever the next one is). Just depends on your packet and what the Navy is looking for.
