I have no clue how I got accepted. I had a 54 6/5/6 but I ain’t gonna complain.

I did have a rec letter, but it was from Robert “Hoot” Gibson, retired navy captain/ naval astronaut and chief of the astronaut office at NASA.

Letters of recommendation have no bearing on whether your application gets accepted or not. It’s ASTB and GPA ONLY.
