Hey man not trying to sound hostile nor confrontational, but I saw your message before you edited it. I think by deleting the context as to why you got rolled, even with amazing numbers, you're giving people a bit of unnecessary anxiety. Still, best of luck on the next board.

Thank you, you’re right. Context for anyone worried, THC experimentation disqualified me for ISEL. I don’t want anyone to think they don’t have a chance, so that’s the reasoning I received.

If you’re in the same boat, even if it was not enough to require a waiver and it was several years ago, don’t be shocked if they pull you from ISEL and place you on the regular board. This was definitely a surprise to me.

What are the chances lmao I thought I was going to be the only one in this situation on this board, welcome to the boat you're not alone. I talked about the same exact thing a while back in the threads but it's buried deep now. I didn't even get a call I had to call my recruiter about why it's taking so long back in like August (submitted back in July too) and he's like oh it's stupid they rolled you into the regular board because of the no waiver experimentation <10 times weed thing; I was expecting it all along though but my recruiter kept reassuring me it was fine... Anyways good luck to us both and good luck to all of us!

Holy cow they got you too!? I’m sorry to hear that man, my recruiter reassured me too. It was definitely disappointing to hear but hopefully we’ll do well on the board.

Yup they got me too haha, and it's all good tbh, I was digging up old threads before asking my recruiter about it and there were at least 2 others on here maybe a year ago that were in the same situation as us but I think they got selected through regular board anyways after so we should be fine! It makes sense for recruiters to push us to I-Sel though because it's a double failsafe in a sense that if something like this happens we go to board regardless and if not then all's good and we get in through I-Sel.

I gather, from what I’ve heard from my recruiter and other current/former military connections of mine, this isn’t nearly as big an issue as it used to be. Assuming that you already went to MEPS and passed if you’re here today. I wouldn’t be too worried about this. It’s just unfortunate that it kills I-SEL potential in a lot of cases.

Yeah it is unfortunate, but I understand it from the service’s perspective. I feel good about my chances at the board, I just hope my class date is as soon as it probably would have been haha!
