I never updated this forum, but N3M ended up needing a waiver for a minor heart problem (LAFB found on EKG during physical) a week prior to the package cutoff, they needed it from a specialist and not my PCM. The process of seeing specialists and getting insurance referrals to go through with Tricare is quite lengthy, so there was no way to get it approved in time. I ended up missing this board, but I will see you all in the forum for the Fall board. Good luck guys!!

Yeah well past sins come back to bite you in the ass. Still, I'm glad for all the guys and gals that will get to make it. Go fly for the Navy and I'll find another way in somehow, if not Navy side then else where. Someone has got to want my talents. Can't be discouraged, just have to keep going until you make it happen.

Past Sins? I had a better GPA, but your ASTB was better, crazy that you got a No and I got a yes...

So, BOL Says that this isn't a selection that there are two votes, one from the community boards, which I got a Pro-rec Y, then documents got to N3M, which i already got a PQ letter prior to the board during a courtesy review from N3M, then a final vote comes from director of NRC Ascensions for final vote. Does NRC ascensions ever end up giving a NO after a Y from community board and a PQ from N3M?

I wish they would change that, it is misleading, it isn't 2 votes, it is a Y from the board and then you need to be PQ, if both of those are good then NRC will deem you fit to go to OCS and issue a FS letter at the appropriate time.

Whelp, if it makes any of you feel better, I got Pro Rec N this time around on my first try as a fleet applicant, so if it goes to show, better scores definitely doesn't mean you get selected versus some of the other guys. Good luck to all those who make it on this turn and hopefully next time I'll get selected.

This hurts. With your stats, I'm also surprised you didn't get picked up. Don't give up!

If it's not too personal, what were the past sins? I understand if you don't want to elaborate. Either way that sucks. As someone with a drug waiver and almost the same test scores, my confidence has dropped to zero.

Don't let the board results get to you! I'm in a difficult situation myself (age waiver) but you have to keep pushing. Have faith and if it doesn't work out, try again!

A DWI on my record. Everything was settled and paid before I ever joined the Navy and no damage to property or people, but I'm sure that dinged me in addition to my age. Like I said though maybe next time and if not with the Navy, I'll fly somehow somewhere lol.

Rumors I've seen on here make it seem like this was a pretty crowded board. Never give up!

Doesn't really matter. A waiver is still a waiver even if it happened to be before you enlisted.

I do have a questions about waivers. So I turn 27 in November and did not get a waiver to submit my kit. Recruiter never mentioned me needing one. Is that a problem? Because don't you have to graduate OCS before 27th Bday or is there a grace period when u are already in?

You don't need an age waiver because you're not over 27, but you will be age critical and on the fast list to class up at OCS.
