1001 questions (and answers) concerning BDCP

i have both these cards now, I did not even have to do that should just be automatic once you're in the system
Ah idk, when I first went to marine OCS a few years back I submitted my orders for that after I graduated and they just reversed my payment and I’ve had it free ever since so idk

Does anyone know if summer semesters count toward the 2 consecutive semesters of Deans List for promotion? They’re shorter and not usually “full-time” so I’m not sure. Thanks for the help.

Hey everyone, this is a rather embarrassing post to make, but I need an answer.

Long story short, I used to be pretty physically strong ~2022-2023, but I went through a rather bad period in my life and I’ve had to start over fitness wise.

If I were to fail the initial PFT for BDCP, would the result be instant separation, FEP, or some other consequence? I say this because while I’m sure I’ll pass the pushups and plank, I’ve never been a runner in my life and I have 3 months to train before I’m supposed to submit my app (my eyes are healing from PRK).

I’m training 4 days a week and giving it my all because I truly want to join the navy, but I want to know what to expect in case things don’t go my way.

My recruiter has only told me I need to pass before I get to OCS. I’ve seen conflicting information though so hopefully someone else can also reply.

I just ran my PFT in the same boat. Max pushups and plank just fine, but never been a runner. I was seconds away from a failed run.

Why i will say - it’s doable in three months of practice and is far more mental than you think. get acclimated to running and putting the wear on your legs. if you seriously think that you will fail, bring this up with your recruiter!

what mile pace are you running right now? I started about 2 months ago at 10-11min/mi, then got it down to about 8:30 which was passing

First 1.5 mile test run I ever did just to see where I was I ran the mile at 15 minutes and the full mile and a half at 20 minutes, so definitely an atrocious score.

Currently my pushups are at 20/2 min and my plank is 2 minutes long. In three months of consistent training I’m sure I’ll blow those sections out of the water but aforementioned run is what scares me.

Yeah the pushups will get up by just doing them consistently. Best running pace practice for me has been interval training!
