1001 questions (and answers) concerning BDCP

This might be a weird question, but I was researching studying abroad in BDCP and wondered what the Navy considered it to be so that it wouldn't use up leave. Does it need to be a whole semester-long endeavor that costs an arm and a leg, or can it be a couple of months while taking a full online class workload toward my degree and staying with relatives?

The PA doesn't say you can study abroad and last time the USN had BDCP it wasn't allowed.

Don't commit to one until you're in the program and you ask/request via your recruiter.

Hey, does anyone know what happens if you fail a PFT whilst in BDCP? To make a long story short, I should've been training harder and now I'm in a pinch and will possibly fail an event on the PFT if I'm accepted in October. Are you enrolled in FEP if you fail or are you removed from the program?

I am sure I can. I was wondering the consequences. I also don't know when I would take the PFA if I were accepted in October? I assumed it would be immediate, but would I have to only do it in November or December? Sorry if this is a stupid question since I don't know how the Navy operates yet.
I’m not sure what the turnaround will look like for you, but just for reference, I got accepted in the middle of May and did my first PRT at the end of August. My advice is to just train hard—I’m almost certain that if you put in consistent work for two months, you’ll have no problem meeting whatever the minimum is.

Thanks man, and congrats on getting in. My run and plank times are great, it's the pushups thats my issue sadly enough 😂. I'll just hammer them out from now to however long it'll be until I need to do my PFA. I've been training Pushups every hour for about 2 minutes this week. Already have added on a couple pushups to my max. I'll be alright, I just wanted reassurance if I would be dropped from the program or not which seems like you would if you failed a PFA.
