04MAY2026 SNA/SNFO Board

I submitted March 9th. Got notified I was on the last step before final approval roughly 4 days ago. What about you?
Finished my package paper work 3/23, so I am guessing my package got submitted sometime this week. I'm just curious to how long ISEL applicants wait to hear before given an OCS date. I've heard here on air warriors some wait for months, but my recruiter told me it can be a few days to a few weeks, and it looks like you'll be hearing back soon. I do not like the wait either haha.

But just to clarify, its just a matter of waiting? So eventually I will get an OCS date?
If you've already gotten a FINSEL, then yeah it's just waiting. If you're still waiting on the board, then obviously you have to get selected first. Although I've heard the times for getting an OCS date can vary.

But ISEL's don't go on boards? At least I was informed that I will not have too. What is FINSEL?

While ISEL's technically "bypass" the regular board, they still go to a rolling board that happens more frequently. If you qualify for ISEL, then you don't have to go to the regular board, but if there's a surplus of applicants and no open spots, you're just out of luck until a spot opens and they start taking applicants again, whether you're ISEL or not.

FINSEL is the Final Select letter you get after getting a ProRecY. Technically, your selection isn't final until you get that. ProRecY just means the board "professionally recommended" you for selection.

so what exactly is the benefit of being an ISEL Applicant then. It sounds like no difference then someone that is not, just a more frequent board?

Sorta. I would say ISEL is beneficial because bypassing the regular board can be very useful for both applicants and the Navy: Sooner OCS dates, quicker processing, less waiting around, and they'll typically cancel the regular board before ISEL applicants because they are more qualified. It's more beneficial for the Navy to have more ISEL applicants for the same reasons... they are easier to process, e.g., higher scores/GPA, no non-medical waivers, and they don't have to wait for the regular board.
