The soonest board coming up for me is suppose to be in dec.
Age 21 - Civilian
GPA 3.34 - Finance and currently in my last semester for MBA GPA 3.5
OAR 48 - If I had gotten a 49 I would have have been able to do immediate selection. I have one more attempt
LOR - old football coach. trying to get an active e-8 LOR and another retired vet LOR

Also I studied pretty hard for the OAR. Struggled in the mechanics sections cause I am a finance major. not an engineer. I don't understand that part. Unlike the ASVAB where they see where you did the best OAR test is just one whole score.

You get three attempts save the last shot

To increase your chances for selection, you want to seek LORs from Officers, even better if they’re Suppo’s. An LOR from an enlisted Sailor will not be your biggest weight. Hope this helps.

LORs from people who have not seen you perform over time do no good at all.

It would be better for them to be from employer if a person had leadership roles, or coach if had a leadership role.

Supply will look at LORs if needed, some designators don't look at them at all.

Hi! Can you please plug in your stats in the excel spreadsheet on page 4?

You can go to sharepoint:
>N3
>N31
>N311 Documents
>GENOFF BOARD Results

I am unable to link it. I am currently using my phone.

I most definitely can, but I'm not sure of the website you're using to view the SharePoint, that's why I asked if you could provide a link.

Thank you!

Ahhh. Go to flankspeed. Under flankspeed you should be able to see options such as “TEAMS, Onedrive, SharePoint, etc..”
Click SharePoint and search for N3. I hope this helps!

From your experience, other than the OAR and GPA, what usually stands out the most?? Do they look at awards and the write ups? Do they read the evals line by line?

No for evals and awards as those are subjective, just because a person is good at their enlisted job doesn't mean they will be a good officer. The OAR as long as it doesn't require a waiver won't really get attention.

In regards to Supply LORs that address leadership, results, etc .... from officers that have seen an individual perform are most useful.

However good LORs can't overcome a bad GPA if anyone was wondering.

Thank you for your insight! What about appraisals?
