It’s the same for P8s as the other platforms: fleet/sea tour, shore tour, disassociated all to make 8 years or so post flight school. I’ve been told many times most P8ers go drones for shore tour. And the whole point of the disassociated is to go to a boat and do Navy things so unless you get lucky and go be an admiral’s aid, there’s no getting out of it.yeah i'm still not 100% on how it works or what counts as disassociated vs shore - but aren't the rotations for P8ers just fleet tour then a disassociated tour?
i'm under the impression that they chose this rather than to go be shooters on a carrier, so it counts as their disassociated
i know some NFOs that came from P8 land, then here, then went to Fallon or carriers but I'm not sure how their rotation works
One of my bros is the VFA community told me that dudes that scored 4s or 5s can end up being better Aviators than dudes with 7s 8s or 9s, it's all about getting in the door. You can always study up and reattack! ISPP is a heck of a program, don't count yourself out!i am having regrets for not studying for the OAR/ASTB at all.... even though i applied ISPP and all you need is the minimums to be accepted, i would feel much better in having better scores![]()
Haven’t checked, I’ll check when I’m back Monday, I’m going to guess nothing is there thoughholy shit bro congrats! do you know if he got results via BOL?
edit: nothing seen by my OIC via BOL![]()

My guess is that he doesn't send SNA's to boards often, but im not really sure. I was originally at USMC OCS but got dropped for inability to evaluate after getting rhabdo pretty deep in. Decided to jump ship after that and fly Navy.I just had one applicant ever with a score of 8 or 9 for PFAR that wasn't selected for SNA, the PM was surprised and we were able to get him on the next board where he was picked up.
wym he doesn't send to SNA boards too often. if you dont mind me askingMy guess is that he doesn't send SNA's to boards often, but im not really sure. I thought you can instruct t-54 or t-6 as a shore duty. Why would you not want a flying job? It’s the same for P8s as the other platforms: fleet/sea tour, shore tour, disassociated all to make 8 years or so post flight school.
