01JUN26 SNA/SNFO board

Shocked with those scores? That’s a big LOL. My recruiter thinks my 6/7/7 is potentially good enough with my flight time and ratings. If you had gotten denied with a 9/8/8, then the Navy is full of it when they say they need pilots.
lol the navy doesn’t need pilots. The competitiveness of the last 3 years have been the highest it’s been. I think you mean they have a problem retaining experienced pilots. Most likely due to them going to airlines after their contract is up.

my recruiter is the same way, I got 7s and she seems to think I have good chance even with my low gpa. I can’t imagine having 8s and 9s and the recruiter being shocked that you got picked up.

Every guy I’ve talked to that’s in Naval aviation will tell you they need pilots and I’ve nonstop heard about them needing pilots. That’s probably what retention has to do with then. I know the marines NEED pilots because of retention and the Air Force is in the same boat. Marine recruiter talked to me about that and I’m from the area near Scott AFB/Air Force family. If they have a retention issue, training tf out of pilots would make sense wouldn’t it?

From my (limited) understanding, there is no lack of motivated and qualified applicants, the big challenge is keeping people around after their initial service commitment is up. We all want to fly, so did all the bros that left to fly for Delta who felt that they did more queep work than anything. Personally, I'd like to stick around Naval Aviation as long as possible, because there is nothing else like it anywhere else.

That’s where I’m at. The airlines do not interest me other than money but that’s a mundane lifestyle.

its funny you say that because when my recruiter called me, he said he was "shocked" I got selected. I graduated from a competitive school with a good GPA and I scored a 9/8/8...
I just had one applicant ever with a score of 8 or 9 for PFAR that wasn't selected for SNA, the PM was surprised and we were able to get him on the next board where he was picked up.
