01JUN26 SNA/SNFO board

I submitted a package to OCS with SNA as my first choice, and NFO as my second. I had scores of 69/9/9/9 and qualified for immediate select.

Recruiter tells me today I was offered a commission for NFO. Does that mean my chances at SNA are gone for the Immediate Select process? My recruiter seems to not have a confident answer
Wow nice scores. When did you apply?

If you wanted SNA why didn’t you just submit for that only? From what I’ve read, if you deny the NFO slot you probably won’t get another offer. (This is from previous threads I’ve read, your recruiter or someone in that position probably has a better answer)

I applied back in February.

I was informed by my recruiter that I should have fallback options (in my case, I put NFO and Intel) since my primary goal is to commission as soon as possible.

Edit: my recruiter isn’t sure if I can be extended multiple commissioning offers at a time, or if I only get the one.

Get another NFO offer? or another offer to any designator. I was offered NFO back in October (not by choice, but recruiter put it in my package) and declined it because I qualified for SNA ISEL. I submitted my package for ISEL in March waiting to hear back. There is controversy around declining offers I have just never heard an answer yet

And that is crazy you did not get SNA, something must be wrong over at recruitment. you practically aced the ASTB lol.

Since you qualified for both, and you were given an offer for NFO but not SNA, that you don’t typically get an offer for multiple designators.

That’s unfortunate. As much as I want SNA, I don’t know if I can wait for another board.

Don't go NFO if you are not hundred percent excited and know that's what you want to do.

maybe they offered you NFO until Pilot slots open up. It would not make sense why you would not receive a pilot slot. Recruitment makes no sense sometimes. Then you see BDCP applicants with ASTB scores of 5's and 6's get SNA. I am still confused myself of what goes on.

My guess is that they have more than enough SNA applicants at the moment and not enough NFO. Since you’re highly qualified and expressed interest in NFO they offered you a spot. If you decline they’ll probably wonder why you put it on your application if you don’t want it.

I hope it isn’t the case that I shot myself in the foot following my recruiter’s advice.

I’m already significantly passed the date I thought I’d be hearing back. Based on my wife and I’s goals, I don’t think waiting for another board and declining NFO is a reasonable option for us.

Top gun 1&2 back in theaters for a week 5/13 for 40th anniversary, I heard the Navy will be there personally to hand out PRO REC Y’s to those who watch both 😁 Jokes aside though at least the rush of applicants after the rerelease technically wouldn’t make the June 1 board in time or else we might be cooked again…
Of course they release this after I graduate and can’t apply till July bcs of lasik. I remember seeing the board results after top gun 2 and it was atrocious🤣

From what my recruiter told me when applying for two different designators that if one comes out before the other, you can put a "hold" on the first Pro-Rec. Not exactly sure how that might work, or if it is really true (If that makes sense?), with the SNA and SNFO being the same board, but I would just keep in contact. Your recruiter is the one with the knowledge. Asking some of the prior recruiters here on the forum would be the best people to reach out to if your recruiter is unsure

My recruiter tried to get me to list NFO as a contingency, was told by several pilot friends, quite adamantly, to under no circumstances agree to listing NFO if I only wanted SNA. They all told me that if you listed both, you’d get NFO anyways (jokingly, but it seems to track). With ISEL you would get picked up for SNA, I would give you my left kidney if you got denied with triple 9’s. It’s just a matter of time since everything is taking forever apparently (according to my own recruiter).

Yeah it sounds like they are trying to get you to jump the gun on NFO, Lol. They have quotas to meet. I'd hold off and wait if I were you
