    question

It's an incredible deal. And you'll find most people in the Navy have never even heard of it! Besides all the money benefits....the biggest for me was that you're GUARANTEED a designator. It's not like doing ROTC where it's a crap shoot what job you may get. I'm too much of a control...

    question

It does indeed (and for retirement as well). You also get to build up leave.

So has anybody gone on and used the King Air 200 type rating earned from VT-35?

I don't have the AMEL - this is the only plane I've flown besides the -172 and t-34. I bet I have to take an equivalency test for that one, huh....

    Pics from Iwo Jima

Wow. I'll have to ask next time I'm there. Right now the agreement states that no civilians are allowed.

So has anybody gone on and used the King Air 200 type rating earned from VT-35?

I think the guy you're talking about is actually coming to Atsugi. He was in my old squadron. Was he a big guy who looked like he spent lots of time in the gym (and kinda acted like it)? lol....could very well have been covered in my class... I just zoned out so much during those power points...

So has anybody gone on and used the King Air 200 type rating earned from VT-35?

If you just got done, you wouldn't have been with me. I think you'd remember me though - I'm a 60 GIRL (probably the only female LT). Where are you going to be stationed next?

So has anybody gone on and used the King Air 200 type rating earned from VT-35?

I did FSI in Aug/Sept. Hmmmm... Should I know a Harrier guy??? Give me a hint... Or better yet - do you know who I am?? No worries - I don't expect everyone to memorize my bio ;)

So has anybody gone on and used the King Air 200 type rating earned from VT-35?

Was that for me???? :) Yeah, so I did the military equivalancy just to get the instrument rating. But now I fly the King Air. All I want is the type rating. Do I just take my logbook to an examiner or is there more involved than that (taking a test)?

So has anybody gone on and used the King Air 200 type rating earned from VT-35?

Well I already did that after the HTs to get instrument for airplane and helos. Do I really need to do it again??

    Pics from Iwo Jima

Unless you're stationed in Japan, it's not likely you'll ever get to Iwo To. It's a very closely controlled environment by the Japanese. No civilians (unless you're a vet and there for a special occasion like the invasion memorial) and everyone else must have a good reason for being there...

How did you get the type rating? Is it just something you go show a flight examiner that you fly the king air and they give it to you?

Major medical issue.conflict, need advice urgently

I would definitely try Proactive...and if you need something more than that...try retin-A (it's prescription, but I know people who take it - no waiver required)

    Weight and balance

That's grounds for execution. God...talk about disgusting. If your one goal in life is to be fat....do we really need the drain on society she'll eventually cause when she's housebound and on disability???

    Navy vs Air Force

I have zero complaints about the Navy. I've LOVED my time so far. I don't even mind the schedule. Now given I was HSC and deployed twice on USNS, so I was a lucky duck. But even now, while stationed in Japan, I volunteer for the TAD dets. I don't care where it is....I wanna go (I'm not...

Not stupid at all. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...but I believe it's only used for promotion boards. It gives you seniority within your rank. So the guy who was commissioned in June has a lower number than the guy who commissioned in July. Then when there are promotion boards, they give...

Nope. Nobody will ever know - no records are kept that follow you around. The only difference is your lineal number - but that's not important for rankings or anything.

Looking for a place in Naval Aviation, with a pretty significant caveat.

Where did you get this info from?????

    sTUPID qUESTIONS aBOUT ocs

Ahhhhh.....but that's not what you said ;) Yep, sucks. But someone's gotta do it..... Might as well be YOU :D And in the candio phase there isn't much you should have to stand in front of your DI and answer for - your beyond that phase. And other headaches - there really shouldn't be many.

Doing well is going to cause "punishment" your entire career. Who do you think gets tasked with the important stuff...the one who always performs and people trust or the guy who ducks out of work??? What headaches does being the best in your class cause???
  23. 60flyer

    sTUPID qUESTIONS aBOUT ocs

Exactly. Go read his post again. He said that if you rank anywhere above a LTJG then you did something wrong. More work if you graduate higher...maybe, maybe not. Depends on your job. But I'm certainly not going to give less than 100% because I don't want to do work!

Looking for a place in Naval Aviation, with a pretty significant caveat.

Whoa...relax! He's saying that he wants to fly for a living....not just on an occasional basis. He'd take the PPL if that was all he could get - but it's not what he wants.

Ahhh...but the point was that the man would need to find somewhere else to focus his oral fixation. So the woman's skills wouldn't come into play....she would just benefit. *hence the "too far" comment* :D

Confused about USCG vs USN and Pilot vs NFO; what would you do in my place?

Go read the little picture below my name and you'll understand why I'm reacting this way... Come on dude....you can't seriously be asking these questions. You're applying for a job (with a commitment of 10 years minimum!) and you don't know what that job is!!!!! And THEN you ask a question...

Confused about USCG vs USN and Pilot vs NFO; what would you do in my place?

Are you the same guy that asked the difference between a pilot and NFO when you'd already started the BDCP process? I really hope this isn't a demonstration of your intelligence level.... or you're probably in trouble...

Navy ocs package to mail out

I just let it go. I rarely correct people on posts - it usually has no impact on what I'm saying. Plus I'm used to it - it's not unusual for me to be called "sir" going through the gate, on the phone, or even in person because it's such a trigger reaction for people <---- I HOPE it has nothing...

    Background Investigation

I know (actually I thought you'd be a 2P by now)....that's why it was funny... In the movie he's trying to be all impressive saying how he's a "naval aviator" (rather than just saying "pilot"), and then she turns out to be an instructor. Just like you could have just said "I got investigated...

You take every opportunity to throw in your credentials, don't ya? "Did your mother not like you?" "No, it's my call sign" "You're a pilot....." "That's right.... a.. Naval... Aviator" *she feigns awe and intrigue*

    Coolest Dad Ever

Yikes! I don't think you wanna piss those guys off! Glad you made it out alive! LOL Yeah, it's TOUGH! Not so bad just getting switched freqs, headings, altitudes. Anything with numbers is usually OK. But I've never been so confused with a clearance. The other pilot and I looked at each...

    Woman + Subs

Have you ever flown in a plane for hours on end with females? If not, then how do you KNOW that's it's SO different? Get a grip there Cleonard, nobody on here was fighting with you. Perhaps someone needs a little release after being on a sub too long?!?!? :)

    Woman + Subs

So what exactly is that reason it was announced? I like to ASSUME that males (regardless of if they serve in a all male environment or not) have observed women in leadership roles before and know how to behave accordingly. This isn't 1980. I hope our sailors are better trained than you're...

    Moving to Okinawa

When are you going? You should get a sponsor (or have your admin guys call and request one if you don't have one) and they should help you out with every single question you have. I live in Atsugi and I asked totally random questions before coming over here and they were more than happy to...

I'm gonna give you a chance to re-phrase this because it may not be what you meant. To me...it sounds like you're saying if a male has a hard time (gets razzled) then heaven help how a woman would react. And not only that, but somehow everyone would react differently to a woman being under...
