Unless you're stationed in Japan, it's not likely you'll ever get to Iwo To. It's a very closely controlled environment by the Japanese. No civilians (unless you're a vet and there for a special occasion like the invasion memorial) and everyone else must have a good reason for being there...

How did you get the type rating? Is it just something you go show a flight examiner that you fly the king air and they give it to you?

Nope. Nobody will ever know - no records are kept that follow you around. The only difference is your lineal number - but that's not important for rankings or anything.
