    Stag Arms Receiver Crack!!

That sucks. I am sure you have seen this on STAG's website- "....All unused unopened products may be returned within 30 days. A restocking fee of 15% will be assessed on all purchases over $100. All returns must be approved in advance by calling 860.229.9994 and speaking with a technical...

Family Disapproval - what do I do?

I am not an Officer, but am a retired Navy Chief. Your father is extremely misinformed. The military is not full of high school drop outs and criminals. And our Officers are not dudes/dude-ets who can't find jobs; they are highly trained, motivated professionals. He might be set in his ways...

VA Benefits: Don't piss on the electric fence, it hurts.

If this is true. I hope they all fry! That is beyond theft, actually Grand Theft, Fraud, Bribery, etc.., all felonies. Taking money from guys/gals who really need it is despicable. Have fun in the "Federal Nation of Incarceration"! Shitbags.

    Navy SAR Swimmer school

It's a physically demanding school. The tricky part is you will attend a bunch of much less physical schools before reporting to ARSS (Aviation Rescue Swimmer School). Try to get some workouts in and keep your performance level up as high as you can without neglecting your studies. You should...

First of Navy's new CWO Aviators pin on their wings!

There's the galley with coffee maker, toaster oven, and hot water makers. Then there's two racks, a table with bench seats. Those instruments could require IGS to operate depending on the weather.... On a serious note- Congrats to the Flying Warrants! Awesome program, and don't fark it up...

    Swallowing wings

Aircrew Wings Caught mine out of a pitcher of beer at the NAS Moffett "E" club circa '83. I went through the HS RAG as a Helo guy in '93. SAR pups in my class drank theirs out of a flight boot donated by the biggest stinky sweaty instructor I could find. Then, they were "pinned" on...

If they make it through ARSS, they will most likely have follow on orders to a helo squadron, not a choice. If they attrite out of ARSS, fixed wing orders if there are enough billets. I have seen exceptions to this also, ie. SAR qualified Maintainers going to a P-3 squadron into a non-flying...

    P-3 finds a sub

Big Red Det "B" Concur with HAL. I was there too, CAC 4. No Sensor Operators were sent back to DG that I remember. We, as HAL stated, manned the aft observer windows with NVG's and a pickle switch. The only one I know of that was sent back to DG was an AZ who wrote letters home...

Missouri Bar was a "VP" hang out in Olongapo, a friend of mine had a poster prominently displayed in the bar that said "If you can't hover you ain't sh*t". He was a VP guy who went HSL, then back to VP. In 1987, the AO on my crew had his hand crushed by a DICASS (hucking buoys, always a...

    love me or hate me

Chairforce One of the best pilots I ever flew with was an Airforce exchange pilot. He was an instructor pilot with HS-10, taught CSAR. That guy could FLY! The rumor was he had something like over 5k hrs and 80% of that was NVG time. The Airforce P.J.'s and maint. guys I worked with in...

Navy helo community....what's the latest news?

Excellent point, I sometimes get wrapped up in the "more fire power is better" idea. It is, however, another tool for the tool box. Looks NCEA is still a battle. I was involved in the "green tip" ammo fight, but that's a whole 'nother story!

    Accuracy out of the box...

Schweet! I have a Glock 27 in .40S&W, it is a sweet shooter. Don't like shooting it without the extended mag., I have big hands. The only thing I have ported is a .300wby Mag, friggin' LOUD! But it kicks less than a .308 and drops Wapiti.

A'dubs Nothing wrong with the tactical Dub's getting their PC quals.. Some squadrons have been doing that for years. I believe that most if not all HSL dubs get PC qual'ed at some point. (then I just read Master Bates comment, so maybe not anymore). As far as being a "Crew Chief" goes...

First flight of the P-8A Poseidon and all things related to transition
