Oh no. There's plenty to go around. Most JOs will be a DivO in at least two diff depts in their 1st tour. They'll start off w/ a smaller group but move up into more responsibility (and fitrep competitive jobs at that). Plenty of "opportunities to excel." :)

Yeah, I'd have to second that one. Take the time prior to cruise to rip all of your CDs that you'd want to have w/ you and then burn 'em to one DVD. If you've got a full-size iPod w/ the room, you're already done. If not and you're a cheap bastard like me, you can drag/drop tunes from the DVD...

LY is VP-92, "The Minutemen." They're a reserve squadron (sister sqn to my old sqn in Jax). IIRC they were previously at the now decommed NAS South Weymouth outside Boston, but now they're out of Brunswick flying P-3s (Update III's).

Squadrons generally have the Supply (or "Material Control Officer", as we put it) as a job for a junior aviation maintenance officer. They learn the ins and outs of aircraft parts, the supply chain, etc. before eventually moving on to more responsibility in the Maintenance Control office.
