Sorry for the confusion...I was referring to the A-ghan situation not DADT. Obama should be more worried about giving the troops support and purpose there instead of giving speeches to the gay community (a relative minority).

I agree...I'm contracted for OCC204-A so unless the Marine Corps decides to throw me to the wolves there's at least one SNA going to 204 in 2010.

Part of the reason I got out of AFROTC was because I was not about to bust my arse and suck up to get a pilot spot so I can kill myself in B.F.E. Texas so that I could fly something from a trailer in B.F.E. Texas. Needless to say, I agree with you.

I know people who did this...they are 22, graduated Magna Cum Whatever the hell they call it, never had alcohol, don't know what the opposite sex looks like, and couldn't find downtown on a map!! I'll take my college experience over theirs.

No, I wasn't already designated SNA. I'm also Marine Corps Air Contract which may or may not matter to my situation. I'm not sure what doc nugget61 is talking about but the Opto and Flight doc at Beaufort signed off on everything and my waiver is at NAMI right now so I guess we'll find out soon...

It depends on your pre-surgery refraction and astigmatism but you can do it at the 3 month mark. I think the magic numbers are like +/- 3 diopters refraction and +/-2 astigmatism or something like that. Check the PRK stuff on NAMI. I did mine at the 3 month mark.

Dont stress too much about the ASTB. If you use the study guides (ARCO, Barrons) you'll find it relatively simplistic. Just burn through those things and make sure you understand all the problems and their solutions. Taking tests is kind of like shooting...relax, take a deep breath, ready...

I don't know about you're questions but with my USMC package I've got all the LOR forms and about 5 or 6 actual letters of rec. Two of which are USAF O-6 and O-3 (prior E). I think the point of the whole package, letters included, is "what does this cat bring to the table". If you can show that...

Why are you talking to a LT? You're OSO should be a Captain. Tell the LT you'd rather just speak to the OSO about the timeframe as far as submitting your package and what needs to be done. That or the OSA (a gunny usually). There's nothing, that I know of, that says you're package has to be done...
