    Armstrong Pullups

One of the things they recommend via Crossfit is something called "grease the groove," which is simply doing a large volume of work over a long period of time by breaking the number of reps in any given set down to a manageable number. If you max out at nine pullups, where do you feel like you...

    Property management in CC

My roommate (MW) has somebody in Corpus and I can't imagine they're charging that much; he'd flip his lid if they did. That 80% thing sounds way too high.

Westboro Baptist Church, masters of public idiocy, to protest in Corpus

Phelps himself is a disbarred lawyer, and I think a few of his kids are attorneys. That's how he's been able to get away with a lot of stuff in Topeka.

    One-Quarter of P-3s Grounded

I know you're sort of kidding, but how does the AF do that, and why can't we? I have never quite understood exactly how or why the AF has had a stranglehold on funding.

    Moving to Corpus

Concur. Before I saw the light, I thought the mainland would be better, but after everything was said and done I did a lot more driving and crashing at a friend's place on the island than anything else.

    Primary CCX

Seconded. As far as I'm concerned, it's one of the few places I would actually like to live in Texas. I did too--managed to squeak it in, too, since we went in November. We got pretty lucky; it was warm the day we go in and the day we left. If I was going to do one now, I'd probably try...

    King Air Gear-up

That was sweet. Good find. For awhile in Advanced it seemed like every time I ate anywhere on base they had an emergency aircraft landing with some kind of gear problem. The only memorable one was a guy with a nose gear stuck up; he landed it beautifully but nearly fell on his face getting off...

How I got Burned on my DITY Move!

Back in the day, the Navy did actual parasailing where you got lifted into the air behind a boat, then hit a release and went into the water. Since the AF has come along, they switched over to land, though I'm not entirely sure on exactly why. A LCDR told me this after I broke my leg.

How I got Burned on my DITY Move!

Two guys get seriously injured every year doing that gay ass Air Force bullshiznit (the AF is why we do redneck parasailing). Go thank the next Zoomie you see for me. I would go ask the Dispersing O, just so there isn't any more confusion on your part; you can come back and tell us how all...

How I got Burned on my DITY Move!

God, this is so simple, you guys. Just do what I did--break your leg at the end of API, hang out for 5-6 months like I did so you end up in the Riveria for nearly a year while your roommate stiffs you on rides to the grocery store and acts like an general douche (and in the meantime his dog...

    Hung Nose Gear (CH-53)

Is there a reason he lifted back off again before setting it back down? I'm guessing it's either SOP to ensure he doesn't screw up setting it down again in a slightly unusual attitude and strike a rotor, or he had to get weight off the scissor switches for some reason.

Scoob, I think our mutual LT (VQ) friend had his wife remove his water wings at the actual ceremony. Congrats, dude--looking forward to seeing you back here in Jax. WRT prop gayness, everything I've heard makes me think it's actually not the prop community driving the prescribed winging date...

I agree with your assessment of where to live; this is a great central location, about halfway between everything, which works pretty well. While I wouldn't precisely recommend my specific place (Villa Medici--PM for details), I'd recommend my general area, here--I know it doesn't look like...

    Airwarriors Stickers?

I like the window sticker the best so far--it's understated and says exactly what we're trying to say, but if that doesn't make it, my next choice is Phrog's white one with wings; kinda liked the idea of including a funny like "In Gouge We Trust" or "It's not all Choker Whites and Dining Outs"...

    Airwarriors Stickers?

I've got a friend who's pretty decent with graphics--I'll talk to him and see what he can come up with. I like the KISS concept with wings, but I was thinking it might be cool if it looked like a squadron patch somehow--it'd make it even more cryptic if it was made that way. Thoughts?

    NASCC O-Club, 10 AUG 2007 FLAMING KABOBS!

A buddy of mine was instrumental in getting some of the sororities out to the Club at the last winging, and based on how much time he's been spending with one of the girls he met there, I'd say he would beg to differ. And he's not still drunk; she's smoking hot.

No househunting leave for incoming studs as far as I know. The first day or two you'll be running around getting the admin stuff knocked out, then all you have to do is muster until your welcome aboard date, which is two or three days of briefs that go until early afternoon or so. After that...

    Moving to Pensacola...

One area I'd look at is East Hills. It's not too far from base, it's off the front gate (back gate only has a WalMart going for it), and it's closer to a grocery store and shopping than most of the other areas folks live.
