A bit. The only reason for that though is because you can submit the paperwork now instead of waiting a week to go through MEPS. However, no one can tell you how long the final select will take. Could be 2 weeks, could be 2 months.

You still have to submit some paperwork and then you will get your "final select" if everything looks good. Paperwork includes PT test, MEPS, etc... The search function should be able to give you some more insight also. Good luck and congrats on being selected!

Speaking to your question about JNROTC... Don't do a program just because it looks good on a resume (but it doesn't seem you are one of those types), because it shows to your superiors. If you put your full heart into a program like JNROTC then it is worth it. If not, find another volunteer...

I've found the average time is around 6 weeks. But it can vary from a few weeks to a few months. Be patient.

Everyone is in the same pool. Some apply for BDCP, which puts them in a different pool, but everyone who applies straight OCS are competing against each other.

I went to MEPS after being pro rec'd. Don't try going around your recruiter, but maybe a second opinion may be a good idea. Try some of the recruiters on here, but I am sure they will chime in soon.

I didn't take the depth perception on my initial go-around at MEPS. We sent all the paperwork in for my final-select and found out I had to go back and take the depth perception test which they forgot??? to administer. Just tacked on more wait time to my final-select.

^^^Don't forget that of last years Thunderbirds, 3 of 6 were former CAP cadets, including Maj Malachowski (first female T-Bird). Blue Angel 6 (Lt CDR Davis) was also a former CAP cadet. And that is even more fuel for the fire.
