I use it to write down all headings, altitudes, frequiences, and altimeter settings. I like to play a good game of scorched earth enroute. Its so easy to use that I often find myself writing letters and notes in the unique Palm alphabet.
I don't know what I would do without it. Palm pilots...
Yes, they open their bomb bay doors and drop the NFOs. The aircraft preforms quite well in the FO-less regime. Thats why so many NFOs want east coast hawkeyes, because there's lots of sharks in the Pacific.
ARRRRGH maties!
i too was first diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat, but when I was retested, the new doc said that my first reading was done on a poorly calibrated machine and the previous doc misanalyzed it. My heart's still intact.
One thing that these schools teach you is that your net worth is your integrity, which is valuable for anyone who wants to become a leader and military officer. True, the methods of indoctrination and living conditions will seem arcane to an outsider, yet I would rather rely upon someone who...
The concept of IFS is a good one, but the implementation of it is what makes it a joke. Being told to not land until 2.2 hours had expired on my last solo flight might illustrate the state of mind of an IFS school - get the students through, and cash that check.
I disagree. Threre are many...
Haven't been a part of either, but there is no telling which squadron will be better especially because of the command and instructor turnover that may occur during your time there.
Too bad we discover this at the most inoppertune times. I was doing IFS at Pensacola regional on my second solo, and I was cleard to land on an extended final behind a large passenger jet (I don't know my passenger jets, but it was slightly smaller than a 737). I thought to myself that I might...
Just think of San Diego like eating at the Palm
Think of Pensacola as the Applebees
Oklahoma City would have to be the Denny's on its last day of health board certification.
Which one would you want to come home to?
Not a Marine, but I think that garuentee only means that if you get a pilot slot then you get to go to flight school, just like the navy, or else pick up a MOS after TBS like the rest of the nonflyers.
its a goddamn wast of money. It doesn't go too much faster than a helicopter or carry much more, yet as far as I can tell it does the same mission. At least it shows that the government is willing to spend money on the Marines, which is overdue.
I dont know much about the plane, but I heard that the T6B will be better than the T6A by a longshot. I think the navy will start using them in 2 to 3 years.
hope you make the right decision, but from my brief experience it seems to be much harder to become an officer in any branch when compared to just a few years ago - you are lucky to have the choice
The gouge on the flight suits at the end of the third week is actually kind of new because when i was there we got them more toward the middle of the third week, but you could consider that the late middle half if you were too anxious.
