Afraid that my motivational statement is too radical...

An inanimate object can't have resolve. Also, don't take inspiration from an article quoting a Chinese anyone. The translation undoubtedly comes across as odd at best. If you want to talk about resolve, talk about the US Sailors who, day in and day out, do a thankless job defending our...

AA B-757 overrun at Jackson Hole (WY) during recent snow storm

Delta, United and AA all fly 757's into JAC. United and Delta also use A319's. Also, Cheney flew Air Force 2 in all the time. I've been coming to JAC for 17 years and this is the first I've heard of a commercial plane overrunning the runway. From the news reports seems as though the brakes...

While there aren't co-ed group showers that I know of, it is not at all that uncommon for there to be co-ed bathrooms. All you need are shower curtains and stalls.

Didn't intend to sound presumptuous. Was going to preface my comments with the fact that my views are those of a green wannabe.

    DADT repealed

How is it different from race? As for the "my values" part...should the military be making decisions based on solely your values? 88% of whites were against integration during WWII, yet, due to strong political reasons and loud protests from the nascent civil rights movement, small moves were...

    Expedia, USAA, and disputes.....advice?

My 2 cents... Online fares, especially through Expedia et al tend to be the most restricted fares out there. In reality, the only recourse when you've purchased your tickets is to repurchase them, not pay the difference in tickets. BTW, using kayak.com is a lot better if you're looking for...

    Graduate Degree Question

Random question about that (I know, putting the cart before the horse, but curious nonetheless). More than 60 units=disqualified...?

If you do BDCP, you sign a contract stating your designator...not for ROTC. Chances of you being forced to do intel are extremely low. It's not a common road out of ROTC and if you don't put it down on your wishlist for BDCP you won't get selected for it. I wouldn't knock Intel, from what little...

    More than 60 units=disqualified...?

First off, I agree on the point that you shouldn't be looking to your mom and dad for permission to join the military. That's absurd and nobody should be looking to their parents for approval for any adult decision, military or otherwise. My issue however is that the gut reaction on this forum to...

Maryland State Police will fly AW139s

I'd imagine the Army gets some sort of preferential pricing...It may just be that the AW was the most capable aircraft for the mission (able to land in tight places, go faster, farther and all with less crew??) as compared to the civilian S-70 or other helos on the market.

There will ALWAYS be an England ... ???

Question: what needs are filled by the Harrier? Given the fact that we have a large CATOBAR fleet, the rationale for the Harrier seems fuzzy to me. Would the Gator Navy be better served by making it a helo navy? It seems to me that this would give it more flexibility to serve humanitarian...

There will ALWAYS be an England ... ???

It sounds to me like Cameron/Clegg went in with the right idea, but came out with the wrong practice...Paring the fleet down and using only the most modern equipment (Eurofighters....impressive air craft) makes sense, especially in the era of "austerity", but it sounds like the British Navair...

    Get your numbers right sailor!

While I agree with the principle (i.e. everyone should serve and would benefit from service...no contest from me), the problem is there are a good number of people who simply don't want to serve and aren't invested in it. For exampled, I've seen a whole slew of people enter the NROTC program...

    Imminent Fury/A-29 Pics

So... First off: cool plane that looks like it could deliver the goods that the warfighters need. But I've got one question. So the Navy asked for 22 million dollars to fund a ready-to-go, proven and cheap air platform that could serve a critical role. This after a number of individuals...

Is there a minimum number of credits per semester for non-scholarship midshipmen?

FWIW, most fellow Midshipmen do somewhere between 15-20 hours on average in order to fulfill their major reqs. @Fog: I'm 21 as a matter of fact. My apologies, I didn't see the portion about international relations. I couldn't agree more that Russia thwarts us at every turn and thus I'm confused why Obama is so dead set on repairing that relationship. Having said that, I don't see what the big deal is...
