Lifestyle MV-22 Osprey Pilot?

I'm sorry - are you asking if the winged aviators who responded to this thread, some of whom are currently Osprey pilots, don't have an answer to the question?

Your attempt at humor/sarcasm might have been misunderstood. Try adding emoticons!

LMAO I guess that's what I was lacking there. The emoticons would have made it a little more black and white. Sometimes I forget people can't hear my sarcasm over the internet.

edit: ouch, I got a neg rep for that one. I'm going to be a little more clear in future posts!

I don't think my cross-thread reference was nearly as funny as the fact that he took it seriously and responded to it! Haha..... wow.
That's because he didn't know what it meant, had he searched - he probably would have gotten the joke. Instead, he still is waiting for us to spoonfeed him the information.

It wasn't so much that he didn't "get it" as it is just a completely ludicrous phrase in the first place, and that he responded to it seriously regardless of its reference is telling.

I've forgotten how hilarious this site can be. JJax, if you aren't banned forever I have some advice for you that I may have missed while laughing.

Since you sound like a tool, you're perfect for the Osprey community. (No offense to those stuck and funnelled away from the venerable battlephrogs.) I work day in and out with several Osprey guys, and what we routinely refer to the bottom 10% in the Marine Corps is more like the average 70% in this community. They went from being awesome 46 drivers to prima donnas. Again, that was just my observation. As for their lifestyle...they're plopters, man.

"Several" Osprey guys at DCMA? You mean like 3, one of whom is the colonel, who I believe used to be a skid guy? Considering that the new accession V-22 guys have way higher NSSs than the average UH guy (having worked StuCon in the HTs and at 204, I've seen both ends of the pipe), and many of the rest were board selected, I have a hard time believing your highly anecdotal observations.

You really want to go down this road? Because I can spend days going down the my list of skid ass-clownery, and the worst part about their mistakes is that a good number of skid guys are arrogant enough to think they never made one.

phrogdriver,
didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. i'm not saying skid guys are the bees knees. I've seen quality spread in skids, and it is what it is. i like what i fly...i like our mission. is it perfect? no. is our community perfect? hell no. like all communities, we're challenged. our challenges tend to be self-inflicted and personality-driven. the level of bitterness and in-fighting gets really bad, at times. the community just tries to instill a level of professionalism in its pilots. sometimes it's effective, other times it has a countering effect because of the hypocrasy. morale tends to be challenged, tempers run hot at times, and impatience rules the roost. again, my observations.
and yes, we are a bunch of buffoons! i was at a DT a few years ago, prior to the moonlighters being de-commissioned. I saw about 20 pilots and NFOs hanging out at one table, playing drinking games and having fun. the skid guys were in 10 different clicques throughout the club. having that kind of camaraderie the moonlighters had would hve been pretty cool, but it's virtually unthinkable-which is sad. your comment about skid guys being arrogant enough to think they never made mistakes is true more in our community than in others. if you took offense to my post, i apologize...wasn't really trying to offend the whole osprey community as much as I was jumping on the JJax dog pile with a little fun jab at Osprey guys on the side. i very easily could have said, "Jjax, you're a tool, you're perfect for the Cobra or Huey community." and i'd be spot on-but i didn't. perhaps i'll keep my inter-community comments to myself. seriously, i'm sorry about that.

Dude, KBay and I couldn’t even generate a smidgen of a response from Phrogdriver and you drop in and get him to spool-con 5 in one post….and then you come back with this!!?? You went from hero to zero in two posts! Don’t ever mother-fuck your community out loud! All of the communities & services have issues (well, not the legacy Hornet community- we’re as close to perfection as one can get but I digress) but you don’t go talking about them. Now, back to dog-piling on the OP and the Ospreys!

As previously posted by someone, have we been had by a troll? JJax or whoever.... No matter, the responses are pretty much predictable and constant. What the hell, it gives me a break from the USAF mentality.
