Colombian Prostitutes - Good Times or Career Enders?

Awesome... and true. Good for you!

In days gone by, a WestPac sailor had not lived until he woke up with a chicken on his chest, or had smiled in Subic City.

[As for me, I just stayed in the Cubi O'Club till dawn, playing Klondike. ;) But I did hear of these things happening.]

Alas, no more.

Had a Squadron mate come up the hill one morning with a tail about waking up on a kitchen floor with a dog licking his face, an elderly gentlemen sitting at the table drinking coffee and reading his morning paper while his wife was cooking breakfast. The funniest part of the story is the fact that these people did not see anything "odd" about finding a drunk, passed-out, 220 lb American on their kitchen floor.

Conducting business with a prostitute is illegal under the UCMJ, even in areas where prostitution is legal.

Article 138-34 Pandering and Prostitution

(2) Patronizing a Prostitute.
(a) That the accused had sexual intercourse with another person not the accused's spouse;
(b) That the accused compelled, induced, enticed, or procured such person to engage in an act of sexual intercourse in exchange for money or other compensation (Note: if the act was "compelled" on or after October 1, 2007 the offense will be charged under the new Article 120). and
(c) That this act was wrongful; and (d) That, under the circumstances, the conduct of the accused was to the prejudice of good order and discipline in the armed forces or was of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces."
These are all elements of the offense which must be proven in order to punish someone for committing the offense of pandering or prostitution. So if I'm reading that right, you can technically visit a prostitute unless your doing so is prejudicial to good order and discipline, or of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces. There are some offenses in the MCM which are either contingent on the act being prejudicial to GO&D or service discrediting (which is not assumed prima facie and must be proven), and others where you have to prove that in order to aggravate the offense.

Validating BzB's Rule #13 for foreign port liberty survival:

"Never pull liberty in the 'East End' part of any town without a crew of tough, burly AOs or ABs in tow!":D

Seems fairly easy to do in this case.

When your ass-clownery makes the NYT, it's safe to say it's discrediting. GO&D is in the eyes of the commander, initially, then the judge and/or jury. It's frequently a bit unpredictable, frankly. Some of these offenses are like Schroedinger's cat. They don't really exist in a definite state until someone observes them. In this case, the SS and servicemen are FOOCKED.

You actually used quantum physics to explain "getting in doo-doo" and the military. There isn't an emoticon to express what I'm feeling right now. Well played, sir. Well played.

(I also added the rock dots to the ö for you.)

Like the military I would assume the Secret Service has rules and regs about using prostitutes (maybe.....), making one's self vulnerable to exploitation/blackmail and bringing discredit upon the organization. I know someone who got arrested for rape but eventually acquitted in an S&M hookup gone bad. Still got fired though after failing to report his arrest, even going so far as to hide it. It's always the quiet ones......

Well let me guess....some of the military guys are Marines. Yup looks that way. Shit..... http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...hotel-by-agents-and-military-members-senator/

Boinking foreign nationals while on embassy duty just got a little more dicey
