24 January here. Just got the call. Gonna have to PT my ass off seeing as I have just a little more than a month.

Does anybody know the differences between running in hot and cold weather? I live in Florida and right now it's 87 degrees outside...

Running in the cold isn't that bad. I've lived in snow all my life, but that doesnt mean I go out for a run when its neg. temps outside.

I also believe, take with a grain of salt, that if the weather is too bad/too cold that we do workouts/sprints/whatever inside. I've been training by running laps around the basketball court and the track at the gym I workout at and its helping.

I wouldn't be too worried about it. Just get ready for the cold :D

you two in our little facebook cult group?

i definitely notice running in the cold though. granted i dont live at altitude or in CO but my sinus' def drain a lot more, my throat, hands, face get chapped... i can say i've gotten used to it though. its still really annoying (especially forcing myself not to spit) but just like anything else your body is an unbelievable machine and will adjust to anything.

CU is right though. i hear we run/pt inside if it gets too brutal outside. i think running inside would be worse than just sucking it up and running outside though. how many laps would you have to run around a gym to = 1.5 miles? your poor inside knee...

I was gonna wait on my official letter, but fuck it. I'll join the group tonight.

I believe at OCS, its 20 laps are 1.5 mi inside there. I've been running in my gym for 2 months so i've gotten used to it.

Wanted to wait until I couldn't jinx it, but I got my FS letter last week and swore in today so I think I can finally safely post here now. Jan 24 for me as well. Greetings, future classmates.

Got the word today that I'm selected for this class, but the FS is on the CO's desk waiting for a signature. I certainly hope nothing changes before that happens, and hopefully I will swear in soon.

I've lived in Georgia my whole life and anything below 40 is cold to me. Maybe I should train in a meat locker...like Rocky.

And I did check the windchill yesterday evening in Newport...fells like 7 degrees.
