Just a quick question, it might be a stupid one, but whatever.

My orders say report NET 10 April and NLT 11 April. According to the actualy OCS website, i should report to OCS that Sunday (12th) at 0800 in appropriate civilian attire ( http://www.ocs.navy.mil/Travel_Check_in.asp ). Is it still alright if i check in on the 11th? Or should i make my reservation for temp lodging to include checking out the morning of the 12th?

I plan on just showing up on the time they state on the orders for the 12th. You can always give them a call if you are looking for the peace of mind. Everybody I have talked to say to just show up on your class start date at the time stated on the orders.

Quick update regarding report dates. I spoke with an OCS liasion and he told me to adjust my temp lodging as follows:

"Good Afternoon Mr. Strunk,
Reserve your room until the morning of the 12th. After that you will have a room while a candidate in the program.
V/R
LT Brassard"

I had originally reserved it until the 11th sincce that was my orders NLT timeframe, but it looks like we are supposed to check in on the 12th.

My OR told me the same thing

I'm assuming you are flying up? My OR hasn't mentioned anything about me booking a room. They haven't even told me what day I will fly out. He said it all depends on flight prices and I may actually fly out early morning 12 April. Who knows when I'll find out.

BTW, I've noticed this thread is pretty quiet lately. Is everyone just chatting on the facebook page? I don't have a facebook, but maybe I should get one if there is good information being passed around?

Im not on the FB page. I find that AW already consumes enough of my time. Flying up on the day we start OCS sounds like a bad idea. It is already going to be a long day. Plus, what happens if your flight is delayed? I am driving across country (currently in WA). I plan on arriving on the 10th. That way I have a day to rest, plus I have some wiggle room for emergencies (flat tire, etc.).

Unfortunately I am not in control of the flight. NRD books it in the best interest of their wallet. I would prefer to come the 11th, but I haven't heard anything yet.

Hey everyone. I just got added to this class. Crazy to think about, especially since it's a month and a day away. I've been reading your posts jealously for the past few weeks, but now it looks like I'm joining you. Swearing in next Wednesday. Looking forward to getting my ass kicked with all of you up in Newport. I'll request to join the FB page, too.

Just found this page. I've been reading just about everything on AW for a awhile now and I cannot believe I'm just now finding this. I'm pumped to be joining you guys and gals on April 12th. I requested to join the FB group. Hopefully everyone is active with info and the like on there as well. Looking forward to meeting greeting and getting beat down with everyone. It's gonna be sweet!!!

I take it that by now all of the seats for this class should be about full. I have been doing a bunch of working out, but not as much studying as I should be doing.

How many people here are going to drive to Newport?

I'll be driving all 19 hours of this. Getting there the 10th. Rest up and do some light cardio, calisthenics, and carb load. The first couple of days are gonna be sweet.
